Hans Richter‘s film Rhythmus21 is displayed on a waveform monitor. A waveform monitor displays the brightness levels of a video image. The film Waveform21 shows the original film on the right hand side, with the corresponding brightness distribution on the left. Waveform21 creates a new filmic interpretation of Rhythmus 21 based on the light intensity and placement of the elements in the original film.
